The Ronda Comprehensive Wine Center

Description

The Ronda Comprehensive Wine Center is a space with training classrooms, permanent exhibition, and a room for agri-food events.
The exhibition area is divided into two parts, the first dedicated to the History of wine in the Serranía de Ronda, from the Neolithic to today, and the other showing the indigenous or quality agri-food sectors produced in the area.
There are two classrooms equipped and prepared for 25 people each, with shovel chairs, as well as a tasting room for 12 people.
The event hall is a large space with a platform, projector and screen, sound equipment and capacity for 150/200 people.
The rehabilitation of the old water distribution tanks to the city of Ronda (19th century) has been carried out by the Department of Agriculture of the Government of Andalusia, through its public agricultural and fishing development company and the Hon. Ronda City Council, within the framework of a collaboration agreement, with Mr. Francisco Félix Jiménez Zurita being the architect involved in the recovery process of this industrial heritage.
Surface: 750 m2 useful inside and 1,800 m2 outside. All of this on the ground floor, according to the topographic measurement carried out on the cadastral property.
Elements of relevance: The system of arcades and lateritic structure around four differentiated, interconnected and complementary rectangular areas, significantly evokes the architectural prototype of a classic winery. Not only because of its sober and solid appearance, but also because of the thermal and light sensation.
Construction date of the main premises: 19th century.
