Winery Cuesta de la Viña
Description
From the hand of Alejandro Durán and Antonio Muñoz this unique company was born: Bodega Cuesta la Viña. With extensive experience of more than 20 years as Engineers dedicated to Agri-Food Engineering, they summarize their project by pointing out that until now they have always worked for the ideas and dreams of other businessmen, now together they have launched their own project, their own ideas, his own illusions. Cuesta la Viña Winery is protected by the Sierras de Málaga Denomination of Origin Regulatory Council, and registered in the Serranía de Ronda sub-zone. The Regulatory Council ensures both quality and ensuring the specific characteristics of the covered products. As it is a winery located in the Serranía de Ronda, it is therefore guaranteed that 100% of the grapes used to make its wines come from this sub-area and also comply with all the specific requirements of the D.O. Council. As far as the vineyard is concerned, around the year 2003, after meeting the first winegrowers of the Serranía de Ronda, and after analyzing and studying the possibilities and potential of the “terroir”, it was then that they decided to start planting. The farm tends to organic cultivation and most of the field work is carried out with the use of draft animals and old farming implements, since one of its objectives is the recovery of ancestral work, without this implying leave aside new knowledge and new technologies. All the work of the winery is focused on a single purpose: to obtain high quality wines. It began with the planting of Tempranillo, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties. Later it was expanded with Pinot Noir and Graciano. Due to the type of production, red wines are wines with great structure and minerality that reflect their own “terroir”. Currently, two types of wine are produced: a red wine aged 12 months in French oak barrels and a production of around 10,000 bottles, and a surprising rosé that reaches a production of 1,500 bottles.
